A few highly productive training days at Konatic’s facilities in Lyon, France.

PGS Engineering - Konatic

At PGS, we had the opportunity to gain first-hand knowledge of the equipment developed by Konatic for the hollow glass industry. With more than 15 years of R&D experience, Konatic designs high-precision technology at an affordable cost.

We shared this training with our partner Fabrizio Procopio from www.leripack.com, under the guidance of Marlon Villacis from Konatic.

During these sessions, we explored the following equipment:

Hot-end sensors:

  • SMARTGOB: monitors the weight and shape of every glass gob using closed-loop control.
  • SPYRO: measures mould temperature with infrared cameras and automatically regulates cooling air, regardless of the IS machine manufacturer.
  • TRINITY: AI-powered inspection system with HDR camera for real-time defect detection and dimensional measurements at the hot-end.

Laboratory equipment:

  • NANO: measures the hot-end coating in nanometres without using refractive index liquid. CETIE approved.
  • TIN READER: handheld device for measuring the tin oxide coating directly on the production line while the bottles are still hot.
  • FUSION MACHINA: automatic counter for bubbles, seeds and inclusions in glass.
  • INNERSCAN: measures the internal profile of wine bottles both at the hot-end and in the laboratory.

Cold-end traceability:

  • HEXAGON: 360° contactless DataMatrix code reader for glass manufacturing plants and bottling lines.

At PGS, we integrate our AGEVO Wall Thickness Scan system with the Konatic ecosystem, enabling us to provide our customers in the glass industry with an even more comprehensive measurement and quality control solution.

Our thanks to the Konatic team for their warm welcome and for sharing their expertise with us.
